Hello fellow FAME’rs! We are only 2 days from FAME Bash 2008. Here’s a quick bullet list of who is bringing what and other topics:
• Show Times: Mastiffs show bright and early at 8:00 am Saturday. There are 10 dogs before mastiffs. Mastiff #’s are: 7-8 (2-1)
• Picnic time: Maybe everyone start to gather around 10:30 to 11:00?
• Where: Somewhere in the parking area (TBD) – I think it will be easy to spot the mastiff group – our dogs tend to take up a lot of space!
• Forecast: Bring umbrella’s – 40% chance of rain that day – on the warm side – upper 70’s, so bring cooler coats for the dogs and lots of water
• Tributes and Memorials: If anyone would like to honor a mastiff who has gone over the rainbow bridge since last year, please prepare something to say
• Welcome: It would be nice for us all to go around and introduce ourselves. I know there are several newcomers to the group and I want to make sure we all know who everyone is. I have heard some people ask, “ am I invited”? YES, everyone who loves the mastiff breed is invited!!!! This is a very informal group; we do not do formal invitations! For those of us who have been to a few of these get togethers, please make a point to introduce yourself to those that are new.
• SSMF / MCOA 2009 Invitation by Ocala Dog Club for supported entry: We have been approved by the Ocala Dog Club, SSMF, and MCOA to have 2009’s show in Ocala in November to be a supported entry. We need to talk about what we can do to make this a BIG BASH! With having the supported entry, we should inevitably get a bigger entry of mastiffs. We have all talked about bringing in an English judge, so NOW would be the time to start planning that.
• Below is a list of the basket raffles and also the picnic food list (I am not sure if this is everything – I apologize in advance if I am missing anything). If you see something missing on the list, please bring it! (maybe a couple more pop-up tents in case it rains?)
• Good luck to everyone who is showing mastiffs this weekend!
• Special thanks to everyone who helped pull this together this year. I didn’t know if it was going to get pulled off and I know I was not much help at all.
