Alot of people say that we are loud and noisy, I don't know why they would say that!  The only time I schreech is when someone comes in my driveway or in my house. I like to think that I am more of a watch dog and this is why I have to yell, to warn my flock.  Some sun conures do tend to scream alot, but not me.

Sun conures are not known to be big talkers. I however, have quite a vocabulary.  Some of the things I can say are;  "pretty bird, pretty bird, bird, Kiwi, me Kiwi, Kiweeweeee (that one always makes the humans laugh and come get me), kiss, me kiss, (with the kissy noises), go bed "(I only say that when the lights are out, and I'm all tucked in my bed).  I'm working on a few more words but they are not clear yet.

Because I'm so intelligent, I need lots of attention and toys to stimulate my mind and keep me entertained.  I can get bored easily so my toys need to be replaced frequently.  I especially love wooden toys and love making toothpics out of them.

My diet consists of Zupreem Fruitey Pellets, hook bill seeds, lots of fruit and veggies (no avacados please or apple seeds) and birdie bread. Mom makes me birdie bread and I have some every morning.  Dad will sometimes give me a toothpic to chew on after meals if I'm good.
