Dog Agility
What is Agility? It's no accident that the obstacles in a dog agility course are reminiscent of jumps and barriers on a horse-jumping course...The sport of dog agility was born in England to provide entertainment during breaks in horse-jumping competitions. Agility is fun! Dogs enjoy the freedom, speed, and challenge. Owners enjoy the increased bond with the dog as they work out the challenges inherent in the mastery of each obstacle. Dogs gain confidence in their abilities as they learn to climb, jump, or crawl through agility obstacles. The USDAA (United States Dog Agility Association), AKC (American Kennel Club) and NADAC (North American Dog Agility Council) have agility events. The jumping elements are scaled to the size of the participant. The USDAA and NADAC agility tests are open to all dogs regardless of pedigree, so anyone can participate. The AKC agility tests are open only to dogs with AKC registration. We, the members of the local Agility Unleashed Club, invite you to join in the fun.
