Jim Wells Named
All West/Select Sires
New General Manager Beginning
January 1, 2009

On January 1, 2009 as All West/Select Sires enters its 68th year of business, Jim Wells will become the 5th General Manager for the farmer owned cooperative. The Executive Committee representing the All West/Select Sires Board of Directors made the announcement at the end of July. Jim is currently the Southern Area District Sales Manager for All West, where sales have steadily increased over the past 8 years.

Jim's A.I. career spans well over 25 years holding many positions within the industry for several A.I. organizations. Jim was the Southern U.S. Regional Manager for Sire Power in 2000 when Sire Power and Select Sires merged. All West was fortunate to acquire Jim's services at that time, and in June of 2000 he became All West's District Sales Manager in California. For the past 8 years Jim has worked closely with Regional Manager Bill Genasci in increasing All West’s market share in the competitive California A.I. industry.

An Ohio native, Jim is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Morehead State University and did a post graduate study at Ohio State University. He has spent a lifetime involved in the dairy and beef industry. As a former dairyman, Jim at one time had three bulls carrying his Wells prefix on Holsteins Top 100 TPI list. While at Sire Power, he selected and purchased the Angus bull Bon View New Design 208, who then became a featured sire at Select Sires. His involvement in the A.I. industry has made him friends and he has earned the respect of dairymen throughout the United States.

Jim's involvement with the large herds in California for the past 8 years makes him ideally suited to lead in an industry that is trending toward a 'less herds, but larger herds' direction. Producers throughout All West's area will soon be able to appreciate Jim's leadership and straight forward communication abilities. Under Jim Wells’ guidance, All West/Select Sires is in an enviable position to continue to grow and prosper well into the future.
