He travels around the North-East cutting snares to stop them injuring deer, badgers, foxes as well as family pets.
But yesterday morning he woke to find his Vauxhall Corsa with three of its tyres slashed and all the windows smashed. Vandals also broke one of the vehicle’s headlights.
Mr Gill, 60, said: “There is no doubt in my mind that this has been done by someone to stop me cutting the snares.

Who is setting homemade snares?
The RSPCA is warning local cat owners in Old Colwyn, Colwyn Bay, Conwy, North Wales, to be on their guard after a cat returned home twice entangled in an illegal snare.
RSPCA Inspector Kevin Paton is investigating the incidents. He said: "I would urge anyone with information about who is setting these snares to please get in contact with me.
"It is of real concern that someone is going out of their way to make these snares and is then setting them, possibly in a residential area. Pet owners should be on their guard and I would ask anyone who sees a snare to please give the RSPCA a call. For more information visit RSPCA website
DEFRA Snare Madness
DEFRA are paying £119,420 of taxpayers money to amongst others the bloodsport group the Game Conservancy Trust to 'research' the humaneness of snares.
The Game Conservancy Trust, or as they have rebranded themselves - the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust - has amongst its sponsers Mitsubishi Motors, who also sponser another bloodsport group.
What DEFRA fail to realise is that snares are not set under laboratory conditions and no gamekeeper or snarer is under any obligation to abide by codes of practice.
At Stockbridge, Hampshire last year, after numerous badgers were killed by snares, the gamekeeper simply denied setting them to escape prosecution. At Cawdor earlier this year, gamekeepers again denied setting snares after dozens of hares were found dead in snares.
