Welcome to Blackhavens Farm
Home of Icelandic Sheep, Nubian Goats, Great Pyrenees Mountain Dogs and Icelandic Sheepdogs

We are a small farm located in Southeastern Ohio.
We raise Registered Icelandic sheep, and we have some that are not registered.
We raise them for wool as well as meat.
In 2004 we added a few Nubian Goats. It is such a joy to have our own milk and cheese.
We also have free range chickens that supply us with eggs. We came to realize that if we were to
raise small animals it was essential that we have some protection for them.
When we purchased our starter flock of sheep a livestock guard dog was part of the package.
We knew we needed more than just one dog due to the fact that we hear coyotes on a regular basis.
It was important for us to find dogs that came from livestock guarding lines.
Then Amos came into our lives, then Joy, then Dancer, then Simon, then Keeper, and now Grace.

In 2005 we added our first Icelandic Sheepdog to the farm.  In April 2007 we added a second.

As you search our site I think you'll see that we truly
love our life on the farm, and we are so thankful for
all it gives back to us.
We are members of the Icelandic Sheep Breeders of North America (ISBONA),
and the Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America (ISAA).
See our link page for more information on these groups.
