Help the Riverside Horsemen!

Help the Ellis Park horsemen who lost horses and equipment in the barn fire at Riverside Downs on Nov. 20, 2008. All donations will go directly to those horsemen affected by the fire.  A national fire and disaster insurance program covers race tracks but does not cover training centers like Riverside Downs. The Riverside fire claimed the lives of 27 horses. Thanksgiving Day Buffet: Thursday, November 27
Spend Thanksgiving Day at Ellis Park for a full day of racing, giveaways and great food. The Clubhouse dining room will offer a full buffet from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Player's Club members check your mail for special offers on food and drawings valid only for you on Thanksgiving.

Finally, there’s some tax relief in sight for horseplayers. New legislation, the "Pari-mutuel Conformity and Equality Act of 2008" (H.R. 6631) would completely eliminate the automatic 25% federal withholding on pari-mutuel winnings of $5,000+. 

The NTRA, the Horseplayer's Coalition and racetracks nationwide are lobbying for this bill and we need your help to secure passage.
