This page is dedicated to my wonderful German Wirehaired Pointers: Baron, Remington, and Dana. GWP's originated in Germany where the breed is known as Drahthaar. They were breed to be the all-around sporting dog. Mostly used for hunting in varied terrain this breed can search for, locate and point upland game, work both feather and fur, and retrieve water fowl. They are very eager to please their owners, love their families and crave human companionship. Overall GWP's make wonderful pets, tenacious hunting partners and great companions for a busy outdoor family.
