SKINNY PIGS
  Skinny Pigs are hairless Cavies (Guinea Pigs).Not totally hairless, they do have a little hair on the face and feet, with a generally naked body. The Skinny Pig is a mutation, and although origionally they were always REW (Red Eyed Whites), they now come in as many colors and combinations as all other cavy breeds. Much work has been done in recent years, to add more color, and more vitality to these unique cavies, and has been very successful. It is now possible to keep Skinny Pigs longer than the formerly short life span of about 1 year...which is a joy to those who love these cavies, and enjoy a longer pet relationship! Skinny Pigs do seem to require greater quantities of water than other cavy breeds, but this could be in part due to the skin exposure causing greater fluid loss.

Our Skinny Pigs are fed a variety of foods, which includes good grass hay, fresh carrots, apples, squash, other green veggies, a grain ration mixed with quality pellets, and creep feed. Vitamin C is also added to their water daily. This keeps our Skinny Pigs far from skinny!

AVAILABILITY
We do have young Skinny Pigs available periodically...if you have a special request be sure to send it along sooner rather than later, so that you can be tops on the list when we have what you are requesting! We can take reservations with a deposit...and when we have available Skinny Pigs, payment in full is required before pick up or shipping. Males and females are usually available in several colors, and we can offer stock that is not closely related on occassion....please request this if you are looking for breeding stock, to avoid inbreeding.
