Marketing of Organic Livestock at Hexham Mart Organic Primestock The Premium for Organic Primestock has been a victim of the Current world wide Financial Situation Unfortunately due to the fall in demand for Organic Meat the Premium producers have become used to receiving has been more difficult to obtain as processors respond to a fall in retail sales. Dunbia have stated that they will maintain a minimum price of £3.00/kg for Organic Lamb until the end of the year equating to £6 - £8 better than conventional returns. However the process has come to a virtual standstill with only limited numbers moving. As the season progresses we expect the situation to improve and we are relatively confident that as numbers tighten after the new year the price will be forced upwards. Organic Store Stock We are able to market Organic Cattle and Sheep within our established weekly sales where Buyers looking for both Conventional and Organic Stock can compete to ensure the best returns possible.
