HPS Featured on Channel 9 News!
On Tuesday, November 18th, Channel 9 News had a feature story on HPS during the 5:00 report. It was a wonderful
piece that really showcased the plight of the horses at the sanctuary. If you want to see the full story plus
video, CLICK HERE.
Help the Horses Find Homes
Presently, thirty-nine horses reside at the sanctuary. Many of them have completed their
rehabilitation and are waiting to find homes. The drought of 2007 has made placing them in good homes more difficult
than ever before. Therefore we are asking you to help us expand our efforts.
You can help the horses find homes by printing the placement flier on the link above and asking
businesses in your area to post it on their bulletin boards, by their cash registers, or in their windows.
Thank you for doing your part in helping the horses!

Very Important Message About the Drought of 2007
Last year we faced a serious hay shortage because of the worst drought on record in NC. In 2008, we
are still feeling the effects. Cost of hay has doubled since last year and we have more horses than ever before.
Hay costs have risen from $900 per month to over $2000.
