Changes for 2009
2008 is the last year for the Maryland Breeders Incentive Program (MBIP). MBIP futurities with payout for offspring of past participating stallions will be offered through 2012. More information will be added to the MBIP section.
MSQHA Futurity classes will be discontinued and replaced by Stakes classes. More information will be available in January.
The MSQHA shows at Culpeper will resume a five (5) day schedule in August 2009.
Points for Youth classes will count on days when schools are in session in Maryland.

Welcome to the Maryland Quarter Horse Association. The purpose of our association is to improve and promote the American Quarter Horse breed and stimulate the sale, breeding, exhibition, general use and enjoyment of the Quarter Horse. State
We encourage educational, social, recreational and competitive participation. The MSQHA fosters future development of the American Quarter horse through the support of the Youth Association. The Youth Association hosts a variety of activities and programs.
All of the activities of this association shall be in cooperation with the policies of the American Quarter Horse Association.
The Maryland State Quarter Horse Association:
· is the official affiliate of the American Quarter Horse Association
· sponsors AQHA horse shows, novice shows and organized trail rides
· sponsors Breeder Incentive and Open Futurities
· sends a youth team to Congress
· assists the Maryland State Quarter Horse Youth Association (MSQHYA)
As a MSQHA member, you can:
· receive a MSQHA newsletter, a publication with important news and events
· become a member of the MSQHA program for year end awards
· attend Board meetings and participate in committees
· meet others who share your interests in the American Quarter Horse
