Welcome to Silverden's website where I hope you
will find the information you are looking for about one of the best forms of exercise you can use to help your dog
to regain or retain fitness - hydrotherapy.
Hydrotherapy can be used to speed the recovery and
aid the mobility of an injured dog and to maintain fitness for the healthy one. I am keen to promote this marvellous
form of exercise, not only for my business but for the good of all dogs. They are our precious companions, whether
they are our pets, working for us or showing for us and they deserve the best we can offer: Whether it is for
their fitness and health or to keep them as pain free and comfortable as possible if they have been injured or are
growing old. Hydrotherapy can be used to fulfill all these criteria and the whole ethos of Silverden is to treat your dog
with gentleness and consideration for the condition which brings them to us.
Silverden has been operating as a Canine Hydrotherapy
Pool since 2001 and was the first one to operate in East Sussex. A year was spent sourcing
the right size and type of pool: I wanted a pool that was bigger than the commercial canine pools available and I
also wanted one that was at waist height which would allow the dog to see their owner without altering the alignment
of their spine by looking up which would happen with a lower pool; this is important when treating dogs with spinal or neck
problems.
The pool I eventually chose originated in France
and is used to treat up to 12 dogs a day.
At Silverden you will find a very friendly welcome where every effort is made to put you and your
dog at ease. We concentrate solely on canine hydrotherapy without any add-on services,
this leaves us free to concentrate on you and your dog: Our expertise is evident in this important therapy and six years experience
in this field has resulted in many successes in rehabilitation as well as many happy dogs and owners.
