What Temperature Should a Bearded Dragon Tank Be?

Bearded dragons have the hot and dry regions of Australia as their natural habitat. Due to this, for them to survive out of their natural habitat, the living conditions in their natural habitat have to be created in any way possible.  If you must have a bearded dragon as a pet, then you should do everything in your power to ensure that it lives in a temperature that is close to that of its natural habitat

When in their natural habitat, these cold-blooded creatures get a good dose of heat from the hot and dry wind that blows in arid regions, as well as from the rocks that have become hot as a result of the heat they have soaked up from the sun.

If you own a bearded dragon, you have to know the proper temperature for a bearded dragon as this is the only way to create the right environment for your bearded dragon.

The temperature requirements of an adult bearded dragon and that for a bearded baby dragon are not the same. Baby bearded dragons exist at their optimum when the temperature in their enclosure in between 80 to 85 degrees F. In addition to the temperature of their enclosure being between 80 to 85 degrees F.  It is expedient that you create a basking environment that is between 95 to 110 degrees F. Going by this, whatever enclosure you build for your baby bearded dragon should have different temperatures. The cooler temperature should be for the regular living area, and the warmer temperature should be for basking.

As the bearded dragon grows, its temperature requirements will also change. Although the change in regular living temperatures for baby bearded dragons and juvenile bearded dragons does not change drastically, the basking area for juvenile bearded dragons should be slightly cooler than that for baby juvenile dragons. For basking, a temperature of 95 to 105 degrees F will be ideal.

Just in the same way as the basking areas for juvenile bearded dragons is lower than that of baby dragons, also, fully grown bearded dragons need a basking area that is not as hot as that which is needed by juvenile and baby bearded dragons. Just like the basking area which should be at a slightly lower temperature, the cooler region of an adult bearded dragon’s enclosure should be of a slightly lower temperature as that of both a juvenile bearded dragon, as well as a bearded baby dragon.

During the night, all bearded dragons, regardless of their ages, need the same temperature range to survive at optimum. As night falls, the temperature in the enclosure for housing bearded dragons should be reduced from between  90 to 93 degrees F from adult bearded dragons, 95 to 100 degree F for juvenile bearded dragon, and 95 to 110 degree F for baby beaded dragon to temperature that is between 70 to 75 degrees F. As soon as it is night, the light which bearded dragons need for basking should be put off. This will lower the temperature in the enclosure, thereby creating a suitable environment for a bearded dragon to rest.
