CBD Oil for Poodles – How Cannabis Hemp Tincture Can Help

He dances!

You can make them wear funny clothes!

They get goofy hair cuts so much they named the cut after them! They are the poodle and you can imagine them in such a wide variety of ways. Poodles come in three sizes: toy, miniature and standard and a wide range of colors.

Poodles have a lot of pros:

  • Super smart. (The poodle is the second most intelligent dog breed of all breeds.)
  • Hypoallergenic with very low shedding rates.
  • Standard poodles are fairly good family pets and tend to be gentle with children.
  • They live a fairly long life.

Poodles have some cons though:

  • Because they are so smart they can be destructive when bored.
  • Their coats require a lot of grooming. If you don’t keep them trimmed in the traditional “poodle cut” they must be trimmed and brushed or they mat.
  • Miniature and toy poodles are not good around little kids because they tend to be high-strung and nervous and may bite out of reflex. They also prefer to be the very center of all attention.

Overall, the poodle is a healthy dog but there are some issues they may have.

There are solutions to those issues as well. Don’t worry. I am going to get to that in a minute.

Let me tell you about my friend Bill and his poodle, Gigi.

Gigi is the stereotypical poodle and boy is she a glorious beast to watch in action. If Bill tells her to dance she will get up on her hind legs and twirl like a prima ballerina. She knows the usual dog tricks but she knows others as well. You never know what she is going to be wearing when they show up. That dog has more clothes than I do, I’m not kidding.

About 3 months ago, Bill showed up without Gigi. I thought he was going to break down sobbing right there on the spot. Gigi had cancer and they thought that maybe they should just put her down. The vet told him that it was likely going to be a long and difficult road and that she would just end up dying in a few months anyway. Bill told the vet that he and Gigi would fight for as long as possible.

I’m going to tell you about the all-natural supplement my friend gave to his dying dog and what happened next in just a few minutes.

Trust me. You’re going to want to keep reading.

Before I tell you more about Gigi, let’s talk about the health problems of the poodle.

Like most dogs, arthritis and hip dysplasia are possible. Poodles also seem to be susceptible to a condition called Sebaceous Adenitis. The littler poodles are more commonly affected by this condition which leads to a number of skin problems. It is caused by an inflammation of the sebaceous glands in the skin. These are the glands that are responsible for releasing oils that keep the skin soft and supple. The condition causes:

  • Bald spots
  • Skin infections
  • An odor that won’t go away
  • Dull, easily broken or coarse feeling coats
  • Scaly or flaky skin
  • Lesions or bumps

There are a number of remedies that you can use to help your dog feel better at home. One of them is CBD oil. The others are:

  • Frequent brushing with a very soft brush to help remove the dried, flaky skin from the coat. Not only does this stimulate the production of new skin cells but also keeps the dried skin from causing itching and further irritation.
  • Add fish oil or coconut oil to the dog’s diet.
  • Use CBD oil sprays or balm to help heal and soothe sore spots and restore hair growth.

Dog Pot? Why! How dare you! GASP!

Cannabis oil for dogs is not dog “pot”. CBD is only one of the many, many cannabinoids found in the plant family that includes hemp and yes, marijuana. Of these substances there is only one that makes you “high” and it is not found in the hemp plant at all. CBD oil is typically derived from hemp which has been used for many products for hundreds of years.

CBD oil can’t make your dog stoned or make him sick. What it can do though:

  • Help him feel better whether it is used internally or externally.
  • Help with problems like anxiety and depression.
  • Help lessen pain from chronic conditions like arthritis or from injuries.
  • Help to stimulate the appetite even in dogs with cancer.
  • May help to reduce the size of the tumor.
  • May help prevent the return of some cancers.

That brings us back to my friend Bill and his Gigi, the poodle with cancer.

The veterinarian had told Bill to just give up and put Gigi to sleep. Bill told the vet to pound sand.

For a dog that was only supposed to live a few months at most, miserable and puking, Gigi sure looks pretty in her latest pink dress. Bill found a vet that would treat Gigi more aggressively. She started on chemo and was pretty miserable but the new vet was a pretty with it guy, with his eye to the future. He suggested that Bill start giving her CBD oil every day with a supplemental dose on days when she had chemo.

Her appetite never wavered. She lost a bit of her hair and was tired but she rallied. She is doing well. The new vet is cautiously optimistic that she will live years longer at this rate. So much for the throw in the towel attitude of the old vet, huh?

But what about other poodle owners? What do they think about CBD oil?

CBD Oil for Poodles

Hi. I’m Gail and this is my dog, Tiffany. She is an apricot, standard poodle and a champion show dog. She is also a great dog to have around. One day while I was loading her in the car, she seemed to stumble a little bit and then fall backwards. She yelped and for a minute I didn’t think she was going to be able to make it. For the rest of the day she was limping and didn’t seem like her normal self. She didn’t even want to eat. The vet said that she had arthritis and that pain meds might help her. I gave them a try but she was even worse. She stared off in the distance. She barely ate. She started losing weight and then because she wasn’t getting the right nutrition her beautiful coat started falling out.

I started giving her CBD oil on a Monday. She stopped taking the pain meds by Wednesday. Her appetite was back to normal by the end of the week and by the following Monday this dog was prancing circles and saying “Arthur who?”

I am Mrs. Evans. I have four show poodles. Two of them have been in major motion pictures. One was featured in a magazine spread. All four are precious and much adored members of the family. Unfortunately, they all have developed a horrifying fear of storms. The minute that it starts to rain a little bit, all four of these dogs are on edge. If there is thunder and lighting they are going to be complete wrecks. I have given them doggie tranquilizers but they never seem to sit right with them. I have tried the little vests that you put on them. I have held them. I have tried everything.

Eventually, I gave in and gave them CBD oil. I had been reluctant to give it to my poodles because that is like using pot or so I had thought. I gave it to them and to be honest, I would not have cared if it was actual marijuana that I was giving them because it worked. They are more relaxed even during terrible storms. They may notice the thunder and lighting but they won’t fall apart like before. I wish I had been giving it to them all along.

Here is Edgar. Edgar is a small toy poodle, sometimes called a “tea cup” poodle. Tiny and a bit of a chow hound he tends to get underfoot if he thinks there is food to be had. Unfortunately for Edgar a family member did not see him there and he was stepped on. At the vet it was discovered that his front paw as broken. He was given a little cast and pain meds to take. Every time Edgar was given these medications, he threw up. Another option was prescribed but the exact same thing happened. Finally, Edgar’s family bought CBD oil and gave him a dose with their fingers crossed. Not only did he not throw up, he was soon back to bouncing around and begging for food under the table.

Obviously, Edgar is not going to learn a lesson but I bet you have, haven’t you?

Are you curious about CBD Oil for Poodles now?

Would you like to know if it would help your dog and if so, how to get it?

There are several companies out there but not every company cares about quality especially for pet use.

Good CBD Oil For Poodles Is Safe

Great CBD oil is not only safe but organic and certified to be pesticide free.

That’s where my recommendation comes in. Trust me. I’m never going to give you a bad recommendation. I love dogs. All dogs. Anything I say is okay for them is better than okay. You can rest easy that it is safe and effective when I make a recommendation.

Besides being organic, here are some of the requirements before I make a recommendation:

  • Wide range of products
  • All-natural ingredient including no dyes or artificial flavors.

For CBD oil, sprays, balms and more, I recommend King Kanine. The company’s lines include King Kanine Kalm and King Kanine Soothe. Kalm is CBD oil and comes in three different strengths so you can choose the right one for your dog. A handy chart helps you to decide what you need based on condition or size.  Kalm is a spray for hot spots, chronic itching and even hair loss caused by infection and more. A blend of three oils (CBD, hemp and tea tree), chamomile and aloe, this topical remedy starts working on the surface of the skin but may also provide additional benefits as it is absorbed through the pores.

Another product, the King Kanine Balm is good for sore paws whether it is from summer heat or winter salt and snow. Not only does it help to soothe and heal on contact the balm contains wax which can also serve to protect from future problems.

Study proven to be very effective for chronic and acute conditions, CBD oil can be used in conjunction with traditional treatments from the veterinarian. It is important to consult with your dog’s doctor regarding any health concern you may have for your pet. It is also important to let the vet know that you are supplementing with CBD oil.

An increasing number of vets are not only okay with that but are actively encouraging it. In fact, some are suggesting CBD oil on their own.

As more and more studies come out don’t be surprised to see CBD oil go completely main stream. Smart vets are going to start pushing theirs but beware: as more companies start selling, quality concerns will go way down the list. Watch for worthless oils that are mixed with too many unneeded ingredients or worse, watered down to the point of being ineffective.

Stick with my recommendations and you will be good to go. King Kanine has the only CBD oils that I would ever give to my dogs and the only one that I would recommend to my friends and family. Trust me, my love for dogs keeps me from not making only good recommendations.
